Awesome Pawz specialises in crafting delightful grooming experiences for nervous, anxious, reactive, and elderly dogs/cats as well as those who confidently stand on the table.

It’s essential to recognise that many groomers misread these sensitive souls, often branding them as aggressive when, in reality, they are just frightened.

My methods may not resonate with everyone, and that’s perfectly okay. My primary aim is to create a cozy atmosphere for both you and your furry friend.

Every interaction is infused with gentleness and calmness, featuring soft touches that prioritise your dog’s/cats comfort and your peace of mind.   

As a Certified Canine Body Language Specialist, I’m dedicated to understanding your dog’s/cats unique needs—an insight that goes beyond the typical grooming school curriculum. This expertise is honed through years of experience with a variety of breeds, including those that may be a bit more challenging.

I provide grooming services in the comfort of a purposefully converted salon at my home in Eston. This salon took years of research before I started the conversion!

I encourage owners to stay, have a cuppa, kick back and relax - witnessing how your dog behaves and how I care for them throughout the grooming session. Your presence puts your dog/cat at ease as they are surrounded by a familiar person and your scent. If needed, you are able to help offer comfort to your dog/cat as well - something most other salons don’t offer.

You are encouraged to voice your preferences during the grooming session, and I will always check in with you about what you desire as we move along.

I take the time to walk you through each step of the grooming journey, especially when we encounter hurdles, like if your dog/cat is a bit hesitant about having their feet groomed.

When you book your appointment, I block time out that allows for nervous and anxious dogs/cats to take regular breaks as and when needed, helping them gradually enjoy the process.

I do want to make you aware of a few additional fees:

* If your dog/cat is heavily matted, an extra £10 will be added.

* Should fleas be discovered, an additional £5 will be charged.

* A £10 fee will apply if your pet bites and draws blood.

I mention these fees not to cast any shadows on your beloved pet, but to ensure complete transparency before we set up your appointment.

As I mentioned, my service is all about your pet - free from the distractions of other dogs* or other groomers using tools and dryers all typically found in other grooming salons.

* I do have my own dogs which are kept in the house, this is separate to the salon and not allowed in whilst you and your pet are there. My dogs may need to go to toilet whilst your pet is in the salon but they are separated by a door where neither my dogs or your pet can see each other!
